Legal notice & privacy

Please read this before relying on anything you find here.

This is information, not advice

Righto explains general legal rights in plain English. It cannot know your circumstances, and it never tells you what you should do in your specific situation. Laws change and apply differently depending on where you are and what happened. For advice about your own situation, speak with a lawyer or a community legal centre.

Jurisdiction

Content currently covers Victoria, Australia. Rules in other states and territories can differ significantly. Every article states the jurisdiction it applies to.

Emergencies

If you or someone else is in danger, call 000. Righto is not an emergency service and does not contact anyone on your behalf.

How content is prepared

Published articles provide general information in plain English and point to their cited sources. Anything marked as demonstration content is placeholder material and must not be relied on.

Your privacy

Righto requires an account for normal application use. Your email address, Saved articles and reading history are linked to your signed-in account and stored by Righto's cloud service. Article feedback is also linked to your account and can be accessed by administrators who manage it, so do not include personal, confidential or sensitive details. Righto uses operational and error logging to maintain the service. It does not currently use behavioural analytics or advertising trackers. Account deletion is available through Account settings.
